Cataracts

Dr. Herb Greenman uses the most advanced technology including the LenSx Femtosecond Laser to perform bladeless cataract surgery in pre-qualified patients. The laser creates incisions and softens the cataract making the surgery more precise and often leads to faster visual recovery.   In pre-qualified glaucoma patients, micro invasive glaucoma surgery can be performed at the time of cataract surgery. Some of these procedures include the Istent, Kahook Dual Blade Goniotomy, and laser endocyclophotocoagulation. Dr. Herb Greenman performs dropless cataract surgery.

Cataracts develop over time especially in individuals over the age of 40.  A cataract is formed when the normally clear lens of the eye becomes cloudy, making the vision blurry and requiring more light to see.   It is important to have an eye exam if you notice that your vision is diminished.  Cataract surgery is performed in an outpatient setting and the patient returns home several hours after the surgery.  Most patients can function normally the day of surgery and regain their youthful vision.
